A-frame in New Zealand

An A-frame dolls house has been relisted on Trade Me, New Zealand's online auction forum:

Look! It has a sunken floor in the living room:

and a spiral staircase:

The dimensions are 65 cm x 59 cm x 52 cm high.

It's pick up from Rangiora, near Christchurch. I won't say I wish I lived close enough (too many earthquakes!) but I do love this house! Think how you could furnish it!

  1. Great design ! And I love the sunken floor... And the different views from different angles... I don't think I have any furniture that would suit it, nothing modern enough... Nice 60s designer stuff would be a must !

    1. Hi Ysé, Yes, nice 60s pieces - I don't know how many suitable pieces I have, but unless I find a magic carpet to transport it to Australia, I won't need to check! I wish I could, though ...

    1. So do I, Linda! I'd love to see it in real life - and even better, own it!

  4. The house is very cleverly built, and it has given me many ideas (since Virginia is a very long way from Rangoria there is, alas, no way to buy it, even at that great price). I would love to work on this house! Thanks for posting it.

    Cheers, Neen

    1. I would love to decorate and furnish it too! Your ideas may well turn into reality - I think the only way I'll have something like this is to buy it. But probably not this one!

    1. Isn't it great? Such a lot of work has gone into it - I hope it finds a good home!

  6. Could be fun to use mid century modern colors that are available for 1:1 houses right now. Samples to be had. Got a George Nelson Ball clock? I know you have all the time in the world for yet another new project, right? CM

    1. Perhaps luckily, this "project" is rather out of reach! (You mean you don't like the colours it's painted right now?! Red and purple together is so true to the time!)
